Join the Center for Jewish Civilization for a conversation with the Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism Ambassador Deborah Lipstadt. Ambassador Lipstadt will discuss rising global antisemitism and explain how it threatens our societies, democracy, and even stability. She will discuss the role of malign actors in fanning the flames of antisemitism, not just within societies but in the international system. Ambassador Lipstadt will describe her office’s diplomatic efforts to counter rising antisemitism, including the new Global Guidelines for Countering Antisemitism – United States Department of State , now endorsed by almost 40 countries and four regional bodies.
Ambassador Deborah Lipstadt currently serves as the U.S. Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism. She is also a renowned historian and author, having been the Dorot Professor of Modern Jewish History and Holocaust Studies at Emory University and the author of several award-winning books. Ambassador Lipstadt was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in April 2024. and was named as one of TIME 100’s Most Influential People of 2023. Her account of her ordeal and, ultimately, victory in a famous U.K. court case involving a notorious Holocaust denier was turned into a Hollywood movie, “Denial,” starring Rachel Weisz.
